We are recruiting a Deputy Manager to join our team
Salary £34,320 - £35,360 (40 hours per week, £16.50 - £17 per hour depending on experience)
Responsible For: Providing full support to the Registered Manager in the Operation of the Home
Purpose of the role
As a Registered General Nurse, The Deputy Manager must comply with standards of professional practice and conduct as per the NMC Code of Conduct, and maintain a valid registration with the NMC in order to practice. It is the post holder’s responsibility to ensure they are both familiar and adhere to these requirements.
As a Registered General Nurse, The Deputy Manager will be part of the Home’s Senior Management Team with a lead responsibility for management, support and direction of all care services. The post holder will be expected to be part of the rota for the home and work a number of clinical shifts per week as required.
As a Registered General Nurse, The Deputy Manager will ensure that the Home is appropriately liaising with external agencies and professionals to develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and partner organisations.
As a Registered General Nurse, The Deputy Manager will support the Registered Manager to develop the team to obtain and sustain the necessary skills and underpinning knowledge to manage the needs of residents.
As a Registered General Nurse, The Deputy Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the care services are operated in compliance with the requirements of regulation, legislation and tenders, including the attainment of consistent fully compliant inspections.
You will work in partnership with the Registered Manager to develop and support strategic plans for the Home and to accomplish the KPIs and Objectives set.
You will ensure a high standard of care service is provided for all residents, and will take charge of the home in the absence of the Registered Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Learning and Growth
•To provide supervision to the Heads of Care for Nursing and Residential, Kitchen and Housekeeping to include live supervision at least quarterly. Through supervision ensure that they obtain and sustain the competencies necessary to meet the needs of residents
•To contribute to the training and development of all staff, acting as a role model at all times
•To actively participate in personal and professional development opportunities, attending necessary mandatory training as identified
•To ensure that they continually seek to improve their performance, skills and knowledge, staying up to date with nursing (where the post holder is a Registered Nurse) and managerial skills
•To ensure all staff receive full induction, supervision and mentorship
Resident Focus
•To be ensure residents receive the best possible care, delegating tasks as appropriate to the relevant section heads
•To undertake initial assessments of potential residents and work in partnership with the resident and their family/friends/advocates, advising on procedures relevant to admission, and ensuring that risks are identified and managed and that care is evidence based to meet the needs of the residents
•To ensure full assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care of all residents through evidenced based practice
•To ensure individual care plans for residents are regularly assessed, continually assessing and evaluating to ensure that the agreed outcomes are met
•To ensure all staff understand the value of and promote a stimulating and enriching environment conducive to the well-being of residents
•To ensure effective collaboration and communication with the wider multidisciplinary team and outside agencies, acting as the resident’s advocate as necessary.
•To carry out monthly audits of care plans ensuring completion and accuracy. Providing support to Registered Nurses and Care staff to ensure a consistent approach to care planning based on personalised care and evidence based practice
•To support the Registered Manager in completion of Continuing Health Care Assessments and associated assessments
