Description
This sale is for a Pinnacle Arkose 3 cyclocross bike with a frame size of 55cm (recommended height range 5ft9 to 6ft0) which I purchased in 2013 for my commute to work (a distance of only 4km). It has been used for about a year before I changed jobs and ever since I have driven to work as it is much further away. As a result I thought it would be better to sell this £1000 bike as it is rather an expensive ornament in my garage!
The bike is in great condition and has been professionally serviced in preparation for this sale where a new chain and new rear tire were added and therefore it is practically as good as new. It is a very light bike with an anodised aluminium frame and carbon front fork and comes with very high spec. Attachments including shimano 105 gear set and bb7 disk brakes.
In my short commute the bike has never presented with any issues apart from squeaky disk brakes (mainly because I don't really need to use them often on my cycle route so I am sure they will bed in?) and it is a real bargain for anyone trying to get into cycling but doesn't want to spend £2000 on the equivalent bike made by either cannondale or specialized!
Here is the 'blurb' from Evans cycles where I bought the bike originally:
The Pinnacle Arkose Three 2013 Cyclocross Bike uses a Shimano 105 10-speed drivetrain with Avid's renowned BB7 disc brakes offering near-hydraulic braking performance in any weather.
The Arkose rolls fast over tarmac, towpaths, woodland trails and country bridleways. It takes influence from Cyclo-Cross race bikes without compromising its intended use as an efficient high-mileage, all-round, cross-terrain machine. Using a tapered-steerer all-carbon fork and a taper-oval top tube for accurate handling and reduced impact shocks makes this a comfortable ride at speed. The geometry is relaxed enough for high-speed off-road use in wet conditions as well as retaining a neutral feel on tarmac. A chainstay disc mount with maximum heel clearance matches well with narrow Q-factor road chainset and ensures simple fitting of mudguards or racks.
It's a great bike and comes with clip in pedals that I attached myself and the original cage pedals that came with the bike ........ I also have brand new mud guards that I never got round to fitting that I can throw in for free!
