Description
We are looking for a new flatmate. One of our current flatmates is moving on in the summer. Her room is available from the 1st of August and the leases will run until the 31st of July. Although many of our flatmates have extended for the following August in order to experience the Edinburgh festival (we do not kick out tenants for the festival!)
The rent is £450 per month. All bills are included in that price. We use Cullen property agents to handle the lease contracts and collect the rent. You will also pay a deposit before you sign the lease and this will be returned at the end of the lease (assuming there are no damages!) The deposit is typically around £500.
You would be living with myself, my girlfriend and our other flatmate Ankaret. My name is Alistair – I am 23 and currently a student at Edinburgh University and I also work in the local pub. My girlfriend, Stephanie, is 26 and having recently completed her masters degree she is now working full time. Ankaret is also coming to do her Masters at Edinburgh University.
The flat has full central heating, wifi and a large screen TV with all of the biggest streaming services set up (Netflix, Now TV, Amazon etc.). The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking equipment and utensils.
The flat has 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, a bathroom with a shower and bathtub and an auxiliary bathroom with a toilet and sink.
The bedrooms each have a double bed, a wardrobe, bedside tables and workspace. You would be welcome to add your own furniture to the bedroom.
There is also a locked cellar underneath the building for extra storage.
There is a communal space outside for hanging laundry or should you just wish to sit outside.
However, the best thing about the flat is its location. It is ideally suited for almost everything Edinburgh has to offer. It is situated in the Canongate area on the heart of the Royal Mile. There are hundreds of restaurants and bars nearby. It is minutes from the main train station and the main shopping area in the city. The bus links are excellent and many of the most famous Edinburgh tourist attractions are right on our doorstep.
Despite being in the city centre, there is an abundance of green space very close to us. Holyrood park featuring Arthur’s seat, Edinburgh’s extinct volcano, is at the bottom of the Royal Mile. Calton hill is also just around the corner. Both of these locations allow for spectacular views of the city and they are excellent for walks on sunny days.
We are keen to make friends with our flatmates. We enjoy socialising, planning outings and going for drinks but we like to keep the flat clean and quiet. It is by no means a party venue. We use a weekly cleaning rota so that each flatmate takes a turn cleaning all of the communal areas and everyone is responsible for clearing their own dishes etc.
We have thoroughly enjoyed living with our current flatmates, one of whom has been here for 2 years and we are excited about the prospect of meeting new people.
If you are interested then please get in touch. I am happy to meet over Skype as both of our current flatmates did.
Many thanks,
Alistair
