We have a new exciting opportunity, not to be missed! At Brakes we are looking for a new HR Partner to join our expanding team based in Grantham, Nottinghamshire. The successful candidate will join us on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a highly competitive salary of £30,000 - £34,000 per annum, 25 days holiday, up to 5% pension contribution, ongoing development and the opportunity to progress in a forward thinking business

As our HR Partner you will ensure a comprehensive HR service is delivered effectively and utilised across the Distribution Centre(s). To be successful in this role you will need a proven track record in a similar HR Partner, HR Manager, HR Assistant position.
Key Responsibilities of our HR Partner include:
- To ensure all managers effectively utilise the employment relations advice line and have the relevant level of training, coaching and support in conducting disciplinaries, grievances, absence management and any performance management.
- Support the DCM to maximise the effectiveness of the ECF and individual reps. Co-ordinating and attending meetings, producing pre and post documentation and creating effective two-way informal and formal communications channels throughout the year. Support site management to maximise participation of Employee Engagement Survey and facilitate effective action planning throughout the year.
- Identify recruitment challenges, liaising with Resourcing Partner to co-ordinate campaigns. Support the DCM in the development of a succession plan, talent pipeline and completion of IPR process including PDPs.
- Lead, manage and coach the Payroll/HR Administrator liaising with HR Shared Services and central Payroll as required. Ensuring managers are trained and competent to complete payroll spreadsheets and contract terms are applied correctly and consistently.
- To analyse HR KPI’s. Identification of trends with relevant escalation and follow through with line managers and action plans where appropriate.
What’re we’re looking for in our HR Partner
- Generalist HR and complex ER experience. Proven track record of managing a broad range of HR activities, with particular emphasis on applying commercially-oriented solutions.
- Effective, impactful and engaging communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with colleagues at all levels.
- Ability to act on own initiative and work autonomously taking responsibility for decisions, finding practical solutions to problems and addressing challenges in tight time frames.
- Ability to lead people with tact and diplomacy. Guiding, coaching and inspiring others to reach a common end goal whist maximising engagement for individuals, functions and the depot.
- Ability to mediate, manage and resolve workplace conflict.
- Seeks to improve HR and Operational ways of working, supporting and managing cross functional change management programmes with measured outcomes and milestones.
- Strong time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and delegate appropriately.
- Maintain the highest possible professional and ethical standards at all times and act with unyielding integrity. Acting as a role model for Brakes values.
- Up to date and in depth knowledge of current and upcoming employment law, CIPD qualified or with equivalent experience.
- People management experience desirable.
