Social Engagement Lead for a Care Home in Virginia Water
Description
The purpose of this role is to promote independence and enhance the quality of life for all of our residents. Assess each resident’s individual interests, supporting them in having a meaningful life promoting wellbeing. Leading and motivating colleagues to engage with residents on a social level to support a fulfilled life experience for the individual. Organising a programme of events and encouraging individual interests and activities.
You will need to be educated to GCSE Standard
Desirable Professional Qualifications are: NVQ II in Care and a First Aid Qualification
Specialist Experience: Working with Older People
Keen interest leisure pursuits, current affairs and hobbies such as: Literature, World Affairs, Music, Theatre, Opera/Ballet, Craftwork, History
Experience of engaging with and supporting Older People.
Experience of befriending people.
General Experience: Demonstrable Leadership and motivation of co-workers in supporting others.
Good writing skills
Good Computer Skills to include the use of presentational software such as Powerpoint and confident to support others in using the world wide web, email, Skype etc
Good time management/attendance
Good organisational skills
Good research ability and knowledge of local interest groups or places of interest.
Physical Requirements: In good general health physically and mentally fit to meet the requirements of the role.
Ideally a qualified driver with a valid driving licence and ability to drive residents on outings in the mini bus.

This position comes with a uniform and a salary of £10.65 per hour for a 35 hours a week to include some weekends and bank holidays.
